Named after the scratch-like parallel indentations on their shoulders, kamot jars are a type of earthenware highly valued by collectors. These tradewares from the Ching dynasty were once used in ancient barter trade to hold water, food, and other provisions during voyages. Over time, they were also used as kitchen vessels for fermenting liquids and condiments.
